Testimonials

I’m Liz and I’m a lower leg amputee. I heard about the Riding for the Disabled (RDA) at Fairlight Hall from my physiotherapist. Horse riding is something that I have always wanted to do and I was lucky enough to get a chance to do it.
I was initially nervous being both considerably older than most of the riders and a relative novice, however none of this was an issue with the amazing volunteers. They assessed my abilities and assigned me a wonderful pony called Amelia.
6 months on and I’m growing in confidence, I’m learning more each lesson and am enjoying the time that I spend there. The team are fantastic, they respect that I want to be able to ride independently and work with me to achieve my goals.

I don’t ride my horse to win races
Nor do I ride to get places
I ride to escape this world
To find my peace with myself
I ride to feel free
And I ride to feel strong
